Update as of 4/6/2025
Great News! Your generous pledges and dedication to our Growing Into the Future Together campaign has made it possible to begin the air conditioning of the school building, our first goal.
The work will commence on June 7 and be completed on August 1st. Our general contractor, Larson Danielson, has assured us the construction schedule is adequate to complete the work in the time allocated.
All the AC units will be installed above the roof to prevent damage or even theft of equipment. Each unit in the system serves one classroom. If any unit develops a problem only one classroom will be affected. Each room captures fresh air from outside for heating and ventilating filtering the air and monitoring it to keep dust and particles out of the room. This will help to reduce allergy issues, etc. In addition, provision has been made to ensure a temperature balance between sunny rooms on the south side of the building and shaded rooms on the north side.
The second goal of the GIFT campaign is the building of a new handicapped accessible Parish Administration Building that is safe for all who volunteer, visit and work for the parish. Since February this year GIFT monies for the second goal have been growing at the anticipated rate. We are on schedule and your continued dedication is needed to keep us on track. We thank you for your pledge and your continued attention in fulfilling that pledge.
Finally, there is a special opportunity involved in this second goal. Fr. Connolly, the beloved pastor of this parish responsible for our beautiful church building, once commissioned stained glass windows for the now closed St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Hammond. St. Michael’s acquired those windows before the property was sold. The goal is to reinstall these custom-made stained-glass windows in the new construction to preserve Fr. Connolly’s legacy. Please see the Wiseman Table for more information on how you can make this happen.
If you have any questions or are seeking additional information about our selected contractors, subcontractors, equipment, or operations, please come to the G.I.F.T Wisemen Table. Or, if you have missed the opportunity to make a pledge to ensure the completion of the new Administration building stop by the Wiseman Table and we will be able to assist you.
